I had expected an embrace right away. Maybe she was just as confused as I was. But we can just hug it out. Get over all that nervousness and then we’re back to our adventures.
Yet, when I had embraced her I had felt no paws grasping me back.
“Why?”
Why did she not hug me back? She must have known how long I’ve been searching.
“Why don’t we just talk first, Tumbleweed.”
“You know, I’ve been searching for you all this time. I never stopped.”
“Tumbleweed.”
“And I just had this hope that I’d find you again.”
“Tumbleweed please.”
“So many others missed you too. Where were you all this time? Why’d you leave? Why’d you not even tell me?”
It was hard to not feel frustration in my words, yet somehow all of this felt out of anyone’s control.
“Tumbleweed, please, slow down for a moment.”
Our bodies were frozen in place, yet the world still moved around us. The sun was setting and only the two of us were there to take it in. Biscuit motioned me to sit down and watch with her.
My mind buzzed yet no more words could even come out. I don’t think I even wanted words between us. Being in her presence I felt content.
